probably more to do with defenders rarely being subbed…

Not just defenders rarely being subbed, but Moore played in the days before subs. Tactical subs didn’t start in 67, then only one per team, usually attacking players.

Plus Becks was often subbed during friendlies. Blame Fergie, and weak minded England managers, for that.

Tho in a Moore/Beckham fight i’m with Bobby everytime.
