My favourite films are; Little Miss Sunshine, SE7EN, The Usual Suspects, Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Toy Story, Cool Runnings, Into The Wild, Stranger Than Fiction, V For Vendetta, Four Lions.

I currently have Shutter Island, The Losers and The Collector from LoveFilm.

I despised The Losers… I actually have a fondness for ridiculous, over the top films (Crank is one of my favorites), but it disappointed to no end. Hope you enjoy it a little more than I did.

I don’t know why everyone loves This Is England. I thought it was awful.

I can completely understand how some may find it to be melodramatic, but I don’t know, the overall tone of it was just really nice in my opinion, comforting in a way, but at the same time, hard-hitting. I thought the acting was quite good, for a lot of these role you could just imagine shitty acting, but Shane Meadows did a great job of getting good performances out of his actors.

With the discussion of This Is England, thoughts on most over-rated films of all-time?

Mine would include Avatar (Cameron hasn’t made a good film since Terminator 2), LOTRs - The Two Towers (1+3 were good, I was bored stuff during 2) and the Bourne Trilogy off the top of my head.

For British films, Dead Man’s Shoes MUST be included as one if the best.

Just about to launch (if that’s not grand a word) my film blog, wherein I watch and review every single film that is on at my local multiplex for a whole year. More to come on that.

I bet you can’t wait for Yogi Bear and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D.

And here it is - Multiplex Slut… review no. 1 is up and 2 (Season of the Witch), 3 (The King’s Speech), 4 (It’s Kind of a Funny Story) and 5 (The Green Hornet) are imminent.

Have a look and leave positive comments here: http://multiplexslut.blogspot.com/

And don’t judge too harshly - I doubt that all of the reviews will be as long-winded and pompous as the first. I’ll give it a month before we hit ‘shit sandwich’ territory.

Read your first two reviews, sir. Quick, to the point and easy to read. No need for any elongated or drawn out views. It’s very easy to sound pretentious when critiquing movie’s but fair play to you, good stuff and I will be bookmarking it.

The Social Network was great, and Fincher did an excellent job, but I can’t help the feeling that Inception was a little robbed at the Globes.

I would’ve given Best Director to Nolan for Inception. The translation from script to screen was near perfect. I bet it sounded awesome in his head, but not many director’s can articulate such a convoluted idea so well into the visual aspect of the film itself. It just totally *worked*.

Good reviews, I’ll keep tabs on what you’re covering.  I have a bit of a renewed interest in cinema at the moment - my housemates and I are making a bit of a concerted effort to watch a lot of films from IMDB’s Top 250 (even have a little spreadsheet saying who’s watched what - I’m way ahead of them.  I live with 3 girls, and it’s a well known fact that girls don’t go out of their way to watch Westerns, Classic Cinema, World Cinema, Anime, War Films, Holocaust Films, anything that isn’t ‘Love Actually’).

Glad to see Amadeus in your top 10 - I liked that film, though I’ve not watched it in ages.  Also very glad to see Paris, Texas - massive fan of that film.

I went to a test screening last night and had to sign a confidentiality contract.

So I may or may not have seen a film. And it may or may not have been utter balls. (It was)

In 2010, I only saw a few new releases… Toy Story 3, Due Date, London Boulevard, The Town and Harry Potter.

The Town and Toy Story were decent and the rest weren’t very good. Will be watching The Black Swan when it’s out, it looks superb.

So I have the choice of;

- The King’s Speech
- Black Swan
- Green Hornet
- Henry’s Crime
- The Big Sleep

to go see tonight.  I may or may not be with a female.  (I am, but I’m not that fussed about whether she likes it or not, I’m paying for the bloody thing she can have an open mind whether she likes it or not.)

Thoughts?  Aside from calling her a belter that is.
