So…Nasri, Clichy both look to be possibly on their way to EPL rivals.

Bendtner, Denilson want to leave (and surely have every fans blessing).

Phil Jones won’t be arriving.

Cesc, well who knows?

What do you think is going to happen at the Emirates this summer? What needs to happen?

I would like to see (in an ideal world) Jerome Boateng join from Man. City (though I’m certain we can’t afford his wages)
Cesc, and Nasri stay, Clichy can go, if Baines comes in. Samba would be a great addition.
A top class DCM would be great. If Cesc or Nasri were to leave, Arturo Vidal at Leverkusen would be a more then adequate (and probably good value, looking at the German market) young replacement.
GK is in SZC’s safe hands for the next 15 years.

Almost everything you have put there is not going to happen. Im a United fan, and we usually dont need to be asked to try and put Arsenal fans down.

Fabregas may leave, although they are arsing around about it. Ramsey and Wilshere are more than capable in the coming years of replacing them.

Cant see Clichy going, and at £5million it wont happen anyway, not that it would be a huge loss to Arsenal in my view. I can see maybe both Samba and Cahill coming in, though think Cahill would be the better signing.

Nasri, he may leave but to be honest im just waiting for a statement to read they agree new contract with him, if not, welcome to OT. Nasri is replaceable, Wilshere is already in there. Maybe the likes of Hazard will come in and Arsenal will go to 4-4-2.

Papers and fans are shooting their load about all this talk at Arsenal, they’ll be fine.

It genuinely seems Nasri will leave, i think clichy will leave, and Fabregas may leave but I can’t be asked to speculate again. Assuming he does, Wenger quite obviously trialled the 4-4-1-1 at the end of the season with RVP in Bergkamp’s role. The rumours are strong about us signing Gervinho, so i assume either he or walcott will then be used as the pacy striker(unless another is signed). Doubt we’ll get hazard, too much money. So, we’ll either line up in the same formation with gervinho and walcott as wingers, or we’ll have rvp behind one of those two and someone else out wide. At left-back, i can just see us promoting from within, pedro botelho is back from 4 years on loan and is highly-rated, traore’s future is uncertain, and gibbs needs a chance to deliver or be forever backup. We will definitely sign a centre back, but I don’t see more than that as we have vermaelen, djourou, koscielny and bartley(squillaci doesn’t count).

Who else? Arshavin wouldn’t track back half the amount needed to fulfill that role, and I can’t really think of anyone else

And also, do Arsenal fans reckon Nasri will go to United? I can’t see it happening…

I love Gervinho, He’s not really a true striker. At Lille he played everywhere from ST/RW/LW/CAM/CM and even RB. He’s one of those players that the majority of his work doesn’t show up on a stat sheet. Still he had 14 goals and 10 assists. Moussa Sow by far is having his best goal scoring season, he owes so much to Gervinho and Hazard.

Rumors say Arsenal are the favorites but this just came through. Arsenal and Citeh haven’t seemed to get involved yet.

Info FM, LOSC*: offre de 12 M

NFO FM LOSC: € 12 MILLION OFFER REFUSED GERVINHO!
10.06.2011 - 18 h 02

If Arsenal and Manchester City seem best placed to attract Gervinho (24 years) in their nets, only Tottenhamhas manifested itself specifically with the direction of Lille. Contacted by us, the deputy director general of LOSC Frederic Paquet revealed that Spurs had offered € 12 million on Thursday. A proposal immediately rejected.

“Today, we actually received a concrete offer of € 12 million from Tottenham which was refused last few hours. It is the only official contact we have at present “ , he confessed. This file is longer than ever and it will open more than € 12 million to convince them to let go Mastiffs Ivory Coast international.

I find it intriguing that some Arsenal fans are starting to think he will join us. To me, it seems mad for Nasri to be allowed to join us. How would you feel if he did join Utd? would he sort out central midfield out?

Arsenal fans, i know we see Nasri just as much as you do, but as Arsenal fans, how good do you rate him? not just on the first half of last season, would he be a great signing for United?

yes, he really would. he could fit in to your midfield, but I would worry about him as one of a pair, he works hard but he enjoys freedom and could leave you exposed. Even before his incredible period last season, he was clearly a very good player, remember porto. Wenger said we wouldn’t sell him to you, and I’m hopeful he’ll sign still, but the reports about meeting intermediaries are worrying. Also, he’s 23. He is absolute quality, and for me would transform your side from the set counter-attack to a varied approach, though he is still incredibly quick on the break.

Arsene Wenger said he wouldn’t sell Nasri to Man United. And, anyway I highly doubt United would be prepared to offer him the wages he wants, which would make him their second highest earner after Rooney. It’s probably just a case of his agent trying to improve his negotiating position. If he did go, it would be abroad, and we would probably get someone like Hazard as a vaer good replacement.

Barca don’t have a massive budget and they want Sanchez, Jose Angel and possibly Rossi, and they seem to rate Thiago really highly, so Cesc looks like he’s staying, despite the usual BS in the Catalan press.

Clichy may well leave if a decent offer comes in, AW would’ve possibly let him go before now if we had a good offer. If he did go, Wenger is interested in Baines (not sure he’d want to leave Everton though), or maybe Izaguirre or Enrique.

Any fellow gooners watched this free video from the Arsenal site, of the summary of the arrival for the Asian tour?

http://player.arsenal.com/

Two things, firstly, how annoying would Alex Song be to be on a 13 hour flight with?

Secondly, I really enjoyed hearing Jenkinson talk as it’s been a while since I’ve heard an Arsenal player with that strong a London accent! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always believed that it doesn’t matter where you’re from as long as you’re good enough, but it really did make me smile when he started talking.

Listen to that accent mate, (2:25 into the video) he was born and raised in England. His mum’s Finnish though.

Let’s just hope he’s a quality player too!

It’s looking like there could be an influx of young British players into the squad next season which will be nice to see. A lot of Arsenal sources are saying don’t look into the squad in Asia too much as it’s for commercial purposes, so they couldn’t afford to take a big group of young players. They’ve taken the most senior players available plus other ones which make commercial sense (Miyachi & new signing Jenkinson). The likes of Bartley, Lansbury, Henderson, Eastmond, Afobe & possibly JET & Aneke will be given chances to impress in Germany & England, a number of them are expected to be part of the squad next season.

Was just about to post a live feed, you can watch it on Arsenal.com for free… have got it set up on one of my screens at work

2-0 to Arsenal with goals from Ramsey & Walcott, just coming up to half time. Will talk about it in a bit (I’m sure you all want to know about it… or not)

Haha, the feed I was watching had Korean commentary which was just slightly less informative than the one on the Arsenal site.

Right… little half time report.

It’s very, very hot in the stadium (around 40 degrees from some reports), the players are absolutely soaked in sweat as they come off the pitch. So tempo is quite slow, which is natural. Pitch is also cutting up quite a bit too, one Malaysian player looks like he’s tweaked his knee after his studs got caught in the turf when making a challenge, could be an issue in 2nd half.

Anyway, Arsenal are lining up in a 4-3-3 with Miyachi & Walcott operating out very wide up top with Chamakh in the middle. Arsenal are playing a lot of diagonal passes over the top to the two wide men, it’s really stretching the game out. Sometimes our play was a little too condensed last season so that’s great to see.

Miyachi has grown into the game, he’s a bastard for a step-over. Looks very, very good. He’s got away from his marker pretty much every time & is very willing to carry the ball. His delivery has been decent too. Jenkinson looks decent. Has been caught out a couple of times, but looks good in defence & on 1-on-1’s. He looks massive too.

Defence is still pretty dodgy at times, a botched attempt at an offside line resulted in a Malaysian attacker having the ball 12 yards out with no Arsenal defender near him. Sczezesczezczezny saved, but it should have been a goal. Malaysia haven’t really threatened at all, but have caused a few issues to the defence.

So yeah, defence looks the same as last season. The midfield 3 are playing a little closer together & the wide men are playing very wide, stretching the game out.

Also the ‘studio’ the presenter & Nigel Winterburn are in is hilariously poor green screen, looks really, really budget.

Commentator : “Wenger hasn’t made any changes from what I can see…”
Pundit : “Actually he’s made quite a few, here’s Djourou on the ball… to Squillaci. And Denilson’s there too, Rosicky is out wide right… and Frimpong is on too.”

Mannone & Vela are also on. So that’s quite a few subs!

EDIT : And Traore is on too… so only Jenkinson, Ramsey & Miyachi are still on.

Denilson just had a ‘mare.

Is Frimpong carrying a few extra pounds or is he just really REALLY stocky?

The commentator just said to his colleague “If Gervinho does come, where will he play”...

Arsenal officially announced the signing a few days back right? I didn’t just imagine that?!

3-0. Vela… he can only score with that scooped finish.

Also, Vela seems to have grown an extra 3 or 4 inches. He appears taller than the defence he’s playing against.

And yes Frimpong is a specimen, he could give Elokobi a run for his money.

Every keeper playing against Carlos Vela is in danger of being knowingly lobbed

Nasri, Arshavin, RVP & Sagna are on now… Denilson the half time sub is off.

The crowd are going mental when Nasri, Arshavin & RVP get the ball.

EDIT : Denilson apparently walked straight down the tunnell after being subbed off. He said he wanted to leave back in June anyway, surprised he’s even out there in the first place.

Arsenal nearly scored a worldie. Nasri beat about 3 or 4 players, drove at the defence & committed them to him. He played it to Frimpong who layed it off to Vela who had all the time in the world to score, but proceeded to cut inside & try to beat the whole Malaysian defence again. Shot (when it eventually came in) was cleared off the line.

You guys are missing the real issue here… the first chance to see that new kit in action.

I don’t think it looks too bad actually, now that it’s not static.

I beat Frimpong on FIFA a few weeks back. He plays FIFA the Arsenal way, good lad.

Where did this happen?! Ha… he’s a bit of a character apparently, did you chat to him?

4-0, Rosicky header from good work by Andrey Arshavin. Lovely run at the defence, took it to byline & scooped it up with his right foot to the on rushing KD Lang at the back post.

So it finished 4-0. Pretty comfy for Arsenal. If Carlos Vela kept it simple he could have had a glut of goals. He played well, but overcomplicated every single thing he did.

Nasri played central & was very, very good. He’s far more threatening playing from there than he is out wide. If he stays, would like to see him play alongside Jack & Song in the middle. Arshavin has suddenly turned into Dirk Kuyt too, he chases & harasses everything! Really good to see…

Frimpong is massive. Not the best technically, but he’s so strong in the tackle & intercepted a lot of balls. What I like about him is that he’ll put a big challenge in & then just play the simple 3 or 4 yard pass to a more capable player. He realizes he’s not the most technical too, so very, very rarely does he venture forwards, which is something Alex Song should look to curb.

The defence? Same problems I’m afraid… playing a very high line that to be honest wasn’t very disciplined. A much better team would have easily exploited the gaps left behind.

I enjoyed reading this. I know he’s got his critics but I am a bit sick of Arsenal players being ‘nice’ to each other and former team mates. I’m almost rather a bit of this attitude, where it’s more like “If you leave, you’re dead to me”....lol.

1-1 at half time in today’s game.

The goal for Greentown was lamentable defending. Free kick comes in, Manonne has a relatively simple catch to make (it is raining hard so ball is slippery) but it squirms out of his chest & falls to the opposition who strokes home with ease. Another goal conceded from a set piece.

Frimpong has been very good, everyone else hasn’t been at the races. Vela is clearly not a wide man, he doesn’t look interested. He’s a poacher.

Raft of subs being made right now… not sure if I want to watch the 2nd half…

EDIT : 5 mins in, Arsenal have made 9 changes from what I can tell (no commentary) & they are infinitely better. Superb pressing game with Wilshere being particularly influential.

Walcott is ripping them to shreds… but his finishing is WOEFUL. He should of had a couple of goals already

Finished 1-1…

First half was rubbish, too many square pegs in round holes it seems. Vela isn’t a wide man, & with him & Arshavin out wide there no width whatsoever. Only player to come out of the first half with any credit would have been Frimpong, who was strong, competitive & efficient.

Second half was infinitely better & should of won comfortably. The introduction of genuine width with Miyachi & Walcott plus a hard working pressing game created numerous chances for the team. Much more competitive. Walcott was threatening without actually doing anything, his final ball/shooting was dire. Chamakh worked hard & was decent, but was nowhere to be found every time the ball was out wide in a dangerous crossing position.

Koscielny had a good game. Arsenal’s high pressure pressing game meant he intercepted a lot of balls in the DM position. Wilshere was influential and Jenkinson was solid.

But still… not clinical enough, which ultimately means it isn’t good enough. A real clinical & efficient striker in this team could score a hatful…

Same old story I’m afraid for all Arsenal fans.

To be fair RVP was clinical and efficient last season and he did score a hatful.

If RVP was in that 2nd half team he might of had a glut of goals…

But he wasn’t… another clinical striker wouldn’t go amiss
