I was kinda dissapointed with the latest episode. I think it was because I was watching it with 3 other people who haven’t seen it before so maybe that somehow made me more aware of what was happening and made me less able to emerse myself in it. Or maybe it was because it was a musical and I dislike musicals at the best of times.

i learned early on in my community career that you literally can’t watch it with someone who doesn’t know the characters or the setting. it is impossible to throw people into the show for say the zombie episode, or either of the christmas specials. they make too many references and they expect the audience to know how each character would react. so people who havent seen it and get thrown into a wacky episode just out right hate it. and thats why i start everyone at the first episode and go until the football one and if they still don’t like it then fine.

as for this episode there were so many references to american things that i wasn’t sure how you guys would take it. for example ripping on Glee. the strongest point they made, in my opinion, was that Glee manipulates people to like the show. they use all the dirty tricks in the book to lure in people that don’t like to think that much. that’s what I took from the episode, a great episode btw.

I’ve been pretty reluctant to try and get people into Community… I mean I think its brilliant, but since no-one’s heard of it in the UK, its not the easiest to get friends to watch it. You can’t really show YouTube clips either, since its kinda complex - like you say, people need to see a good few episodes before they judge I think!

I’m going to fucking miss this show.

Very true. I thought I could get away with showing friends Modern Warfare and that’d be so impressed they’d buy (or download) both series. Instead, what happened is they tittered once or twice and just weren’t taken by it.

I showed a group of friends the Modern Warfare ep the other day. None of the 4 had seen/heard of the show before and they seemed to enjoy it. I think Modern Warfare is pretty much the go-to episode to get people into it.

I’ve only got in to this in the last week or so but I’m already halfway through season 2. Pierce is absolutely brilliant, so fucking funny.

I’ve been trying to spread this around as much as possible. Just to let people know. I’m happy we are getting the full 22 episodes but i have this huge feeling in my gut that the chances of a final 4th season and slim.

They are incredibly good. You know a show is quality when it gets such an artistic response.

Great news! However now NBC are putting Parks and Rec on hiatus.

parks and rec is fine. its just to finish up ‘up all night’‘s freshman year because its actually doing well. they wanted community to go back in the 800 timeslot because no one is going to beat big bang theory so thats the best place for a high rated low viewership show. they couldn’t take 3o rock off as this is probably their last season and the office is the golden boy of thursday nbc. so its all good.

i’m ecstatic for the season to come back so soon. can’t wait to see what they got up their sleeve.

That website has to be the most pretentious critic site on the internet. Terrible.

I’m going to have to get back into this show at some point. I watched the full first season and bits and pieces of the second, and while I found it humorous, I never found myself as thrilled with it as many others I know. Love some of the references it’s just that I can find it to be a bit throwaway at times. I guess that may be the intent, however.

the first 5-6 episodes start slow, but if you get through them i guarantee you won’t regret it

I’ll definitely need something more ‘comedy’ to watch as I come to the end of Arrested Development, if I buy the first season DVD then that will force me to watch it. I’ll end up getting into it somehow
