I couldn’t see the old TV Thread, assuming that it belonged to someone who got kicked or something. So here’s a new one.

I wanted to ask if any one had watched Romanzo Criminale, and, if so, is it worth watching? Looks pretty stylish and I’ve got it on Sky Player.

Breaking Bad is the only thing worth watching on TV. Thankfully E4 don’t have the rights so it wont be raped for a good few years yet. DVD in the UK, I believe.

I found it enjoyable, my first impression was that it felt like Boardwalk Empire, but with some comedic elements and not as slow.

Season 4 of Breaking Bad was absolutely brilliant, probably my favourite season of television ever.

It’s a pretty good film, very enjoyable mafioso stuff.

Watching Stargate Atlantis at the moment, on season 2 after watching all of SG-1 and the films. It’s now my favourite sci-fi show ever.

why are you comparing a mediocre english sitcom, with a big budget U.S drama series!? makes no sense.

Yeah that can safely get fucked. Nothing is on a par with BB right now. Absolutely nothing.

And it’s hardly big budget considering it’s budget for season 5 is going to get slashed due to the ridiculous amounts they’re going to put into Mad Men.

I did originally write big budget, in comparison, to the IT crowd -but there were too many commas! anyway, I wouldn’t compare two shows that are so totally different. Like comparing waterloo road with curb…

Breaking Bad is said to cost about $3 million per episode, which is on the high end of most basic cable dramas.”

The first 3 or 4 episodes of The Walking Dead were absolute TV gold but the last few definitely went off the boil a tad. Very much looking forward to the new season.

So who’s been watching the new season of Boardwalk Empire on Sky Atlantic? The scenes with Chalky White in the latest episode were a thing of beauty. Such brilliant television.

Anyone watch The Slap last night on BBC4?

I read the book a couple of years ago and, while a bit soap opera-y it does ask some interesting social questions.

Watched the entire first series of Big Bang Theory on Saturday night.

I usually dislike shows like this. But really enjoy watching the Big Bang Theory for some reason. ‘It dicks all over How I met your Mother’.

That sentence reads oddly if you ignore the quotation marks.

I’d say HIMYM has the edge over Big Bang Theory, the whole awkward geek thing only gets you so far. I do enjoy it but after watching that YouTube video of seeing a scene WITHOUT the canned laughter.. it makes some of the scenes really awkward.

I think this is the one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmLQaTcViOA

I think Big Bang Theory is genuinely a very good sitcom, it’s nothing groundbreaking or original, but does a mighty fine job in keeping me amused for 20 or so minutes. Plus that scene without the canned laughter is still genuinely funny, sure it seems unnatural in parts, but that’s because they’re reacting to the audience. If you wrote that scene without the audience in mind, it would still be funny.

Have only started watching it in the past couple of weeks as it’s being shown on E4 quite a bit, but I like it. I’ve also started getting into How I Met Your Mother in the past couple of weeks too, another very decent sitcom on E4. Much better than the prime time ones they are showing at the moment that are basically the same (Happy Endings & Perfect Couples, or something like that…)

Anyway, whilst I’m here, living it up on the forum on a Friday night (girlfriend is working all weekend & mates are being gay with their girlfriends), new episode of Walking Dead in 20 minutes pound

Not really a fan of Big Bang Theory. It strikes me as being unauthentic, like the nerd angle is written from an outsiders perspective. Someone said it was like nerd blackface, which describes it perfectly.

Admittedly, I’m a cynical asshole when it comes to entertainment.

I kinda like it but I wouldn’t class myself as a fan of that show. It’s hilarious when they dance and lip sync to songs.

I tell you what is a massive pile of wank, Richard Bacon’s Beer & Pizza Club. Everything about it just makes me hate the world, I was shocked (and appalled) to see the mighty Tim Key appear on the show this/last week. He sat next to ‘Lotto lout’ Michael Carroll for one section of the show & genuinely looked very uncomfortable. Although he did ask him what the going rate for an orgy was… as a joke. Which Richard Bacon, without a shred of irony, then asked the same question.

Argh… it’s a horrible, horrible show.

Also, this scene from Psychoville is the funniest thing I’ve seen on TV all year. I was crying with laughter the first time I saw it, my sides actually hurt.

Gonna go against the grain here and say that HIMYM is very much overrated. I still watch it, but I think the actual jokes in it are very poor at times - i do enjoy the running gags though. I’m enjoying it more as a drama than a sitcom - hope this new series changes my mind though.
Think Fresh Meat has picked up the pace as well, anyone seen the online preview of the next episode? Whitehall is excellent.
