By the way, we’ve got Massimo MASCARPONE, so how did we miss Massimo MACCARONI CHEESE?!

This is golden! I actually love this thread… This is a pretty decent looking squad, near completion? Am loving the addition of team names.

RED LEICESTER City (or PORT SALUT Vale)?

GK Peter STILTON

DC Markus BABYBEL
DC Tony EDAMs
DC EMMENTAL Ben Haim

MR Mikel ArFETA
ML DAIRYLEA Sharpe
MC Christian CAMAMBERT
MC Torsten CHEESE STRINGS

ST Gianfranco GORGONZOLA
ST CHEDDAR Evans
ST ROQUEFORT Santa Cruz

Subs: CHEESEus Navas, Thiago MOZZARELLA, MONTERREY JACK Charlton, NACHO Novo, Massimo MASCARPONE

Manager BRIEn Clough

Instead of Dairylea Sharpe we should go for Rob Dairylea. Just for Pete.

I’d say Dairylea Sharpe is superior to Rob Dairylea I’m afraid…

Hows about Theo WalCOTTAGE CHEESE?

This thread got me through work yesterday. We need a new XI.

Ditto, I liked the Robbie CABBAGE one, maybe Vegetable XI?

Incidentally, I think we could sum up the Animal XI as

GK Shay GIBBON

DR Daniel OWLves
DL Ashley MOLE
DC Barry VENISON
DC Mark FISH
MC Lee CATterMOLE
MC Bastian SWINEsteiger
MC Ruel FOX

ST Nicolas AnELKa
ST Dider FROGba
ST Geoff HORSEfield

Subs: Edwin PAN DA Sar, Kenny DeuSHARK, Shaun GOATer, Philipe OWLbert, Wayne KANGAROOney

Good show!

Oh and for the Vegetable XI -

Lionel LETTUCE-i

Or maybe we should make it Fruit and Veg XI? Are salad’s vegetables? Who even knows?

I’d go with that Animal XI ... so we can draw a line under the Animal XI & Cheese XI?

Vegetable XI it is…

Terry VEGETABLES
Leighton BEANS
Henning ICE BERG LETTUCE (count as a vegetable?)

Or maybe we should make it Fruit and Veg XI? Are salad’s vegetables? Who even knows?

And then ignored the rest.

Just for the record I have felt ashamed and disgusted with myself every time I have posted in this thread. I can’t help myself though:

My takeaway one is falling on deaf ears, so I’ll try to tempt you all with more suggestions:

King Prawn Wright Phillips
Eric Cantonese
Naani
Gabriel Battered Sausage
Patrik Burger
Diego Maradoner

Have been compiling a Takeaway XI in the office & with mates today & I think it’s a real decent effort…

KFC Barcelona

GK - Rob Green Thai Curry

DC - John Chicken Teryiaki
DC - Mark Fish ‘n’ Chips
DC - Poppadominic Matteo

MR - Naani
ML - Celestine Kebabayaro
MC - Pitta Beardsley
MC - Zinedine Zidansak

ST - King Prawn Wright Phillips
ST - Didier Drogbhaji
ST - Paulo Wanchop Suey

Subway Bench : Julio Caesar Salad; Didier Pakora; Shensushi Nakamura; Patrick Burger King; Eric Cantonese; Rio Ferdinandos.

Manager : El Diego Maradoner
Assistant Manager : Pat Rice

It was a tough to choose a starting XI. I love Pitta Beardsley as its spelt the way Geordie’s announce his actual name.

‘Pitta Beardsley’ is brilliant, though ‘Patrick Burger King’ deserves a place in the starting line-up.

I began to think of a music/band themed eleven today, as much as I managed in a short time was Lee Sharpe and more obviously Linvoy Primus.

I’m amazed that an Alcohol team has been picked and none of you have had the wherewithal to suggest Dick ADVOCAAT as the manager.

After the sheer joy of the KFC Barcelona that me & friends took part in yesterday at work (and in the pub), we decided to follow it up with a Chocolate Bar/Sweet XI today. We’ve got the bases of a good team, but will be glad for any input. At the moment we’ve got:

John Terry’s Chocolate Orange
David Boost
Hatem Ben After Eight
Freddo Ljungberg
Wispatrick Vieira
Samuel Cornett’o
Albert Ferrero Rocher
Dwight Yorkie
Danny Roses
Bueno Assou-Ekotto

All being led upfront by the ludicrously brilliant John Fashanougat & Sylvan Ebanks-Flake.

We’re still looking for a goalkeeper, a team name (keen to avoid the lazy LA Galaxy Bar), a manager & ideally a few more players to make a subs bench.

Thank you to whoever created this thread, have told people I work with & mates about it & it’s managed to mass quite the following. Am getting suggestions for players from people I haven’t spoken to in years who have heard about it through friends!
