We’ve had a few FIFA and FM/CM threads, but how about games outside of the football circle?  Anyone nerd it up on a regular occasion like myself?

The end of October/start of November is going to cost me a big chunk of my pay cheque - Rock Band 3 (£65 for a keytar is jokes.. but it is a keytar..), Fable 3, Force Unleashed 2, Fallout New Vegas, FM 2011, OH MY.

I don’t buy many brand new games due to cost but I’ll proabbly try to pick Fable 3 and Fallout eventually. I’m playing Dead Space at the moment and it’s pure minted.

Games that make me moist:

1. CoD MW2
2. CoD: Black Ops (Pre-ordered)
3. Guitar Hero Series
4: Command & Conquer (I have the ‘Decades’ version which includes them all up until Generals)
4: The Total War Series (esp Rome)
5: Gears of War (If you havent played this, please promise me you will get a copy off eBay for a 5er and just session it)

I´m getting Fallout New Vegas for Christmas, and I might get Dead Rising 2 soon, even though I am completely against the idea of zombies looking silly. It looks like mindless fun, so I’ll tolerate it >_>

At the moment, I’m a poor student who can’t afford many games, so I’ve got to make do with playing through the awesome Godfather game, Brutal Legend, and the not so awesome Modern Warfare 2. I’ve still got Final Fantasy XIII to complete aswell, but that’s about it.

Not getting Black Ops, I really don’t like the Treyarch COD games.

PES 11, Dead Rising 2, the new Guitar Hero game… that’d be me sorted.

Oh, and is Fifa 11 any good? I’ve heard some bad reviews of it, like the manager mode is borked and stuff, but it seems to be only from the mindless section of the Pro Evo fanboys.

Won’t be getting PES for a few weeks at least, uni fees are smashing the granny out of my bank balance at the moment. Gaming time is at a premium too, a few deadlines coming up.

If I can spare an evening once I’ve got it I’ll let you know, for sure.

The single player from MW2 is incredible, but really short and ends on a cliffhanger, which I hate. It feels as though it was made just to add on another sequel rather than having the writers create an awesome whole story. Did I mention how short it is? Because it’s really short. The Spec Ops mode doesn’t add much unless you have local multiplayer (massive lag ruins the game online), but still, it’s awesome in it’s own way. In theory, the multiplayer should be so much better than these combined as it’s the main selling point, but being forced to play with so many retards exploiting the many glitches just drains the fun out of it. Maybe 1 in 10 games is tolerable, even less that that are enjoyable.

The Godfather game, on the other hand is:
- Single player
- Awesome story (it’s the Godfather)
- Has Marlon Brando doing the voice acting

Sorry about the nerd essay, I’ve got about an hour to kill and I’m bored >_>.

All I’m hoping for is some decent online support to the game, which MW2 neglected. Also, they’ve removed stopping power and juggernaut which is pretty awesome.

Dont worry fella. At least you’ve explained your point (which is more than some people do).

tbh, I agree - the story is TOO short.

What glitches do u mean on multiplayer?

Other than constant nube tube and thermal sniping? (wankers)

Clipping (bullets coming out of the forehead)is another problem the series has got, quite ludicrous that they haven’t changed it.

I was going to get Fallout New Vegas but im off to Phase One training with the Army this month, so there is really no point! Im currently making the most of my 360 before I go, having a bash at Oblivion again to kill time. Might look a bit dated now but I still reckon its one of the best games out.

...Those aren’t glitches, they’re just things that annoy you.

Glitches like quick scoping (which was never sorted) and the 180 degree Rangers (which was thankfully sorted).

The only MW2 glitch I’ve ever come across has been in the big, fleshy bit holding the controller. I’m bloody useless online!

I’ve only really ever played PES, Tony Hawks, Champ/Foot Man, Tiger Woods & CoD. The only other game I really got into was Final Fantasy VII on the PS1. That took over my life as a 12 year old. Invested a lot of time in that… until I lent my PlayStation to my ‘friend’ in exchange for his N64 for a couple of weeks, & he proceeded to save over my main FFVII save. Literally about 100+ hours of my life down the drain for nothing… didn’t even bother playing it again.

13 years later and I still hate my ‘friend’ too…

Fallout 3 is AWESOME. I did pretty much everything except that Mothership Zeta thing. It’s going to take a hell of a lot for New Vegas to live up to how good FO3 is.

I still stand by the fact FFVII is the greatest game ever made. EVER.  Shame about the new Final Fantasy’s though, they’ve just been a bit gash.  FFX was alright though.

Currently can’t stop playing Minecraft on the PC , its still really early in devolpment and things being changed all the time but it is amazingly addictive , kind of like playing with Lego . Other than that it is usually Team Fortress 2 .

I am pretty much exclusively playing Madden NFL 11 these days, leading the Eagles to glory (well, as far as the NFC Championship game, where I reckon the Packers are about to do me).

If anyone else plays it and fancies a bash on Live anytime let me know.

I expect on November 5th my gaming priorities will change, with the release of FM2011.

Debating whether to get the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption.  Having zombies is pretty fucking lazy and seems like trying to milk it a little, but Red Dead itself was a bloody brilliant game, so I think it might be worth it.

I’m really looking forward to buying Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 going to try get that at some point on friday. Also after watching Tron for the first time last night due to one of my favourite actors being in it I’m going to get the game when it comes out at xmas with the new film. Along with another game and not play them till xmas day. As I’ve been told at 22 I’m too old for Xmas which is fair enough as I now believe Xmas shouldn’t be about commercialisation and should fundamentally be a socialist event. So I will have these as presents to myself as you have to have computer games to play on Xmas day it just goes with the territory.
