Would love to start a Ramble one with a few of us in the same division. Loads of class players play at weird clubs. It’s a lot of fun. You feel a proper achievement when you win a game. Matches are twice a week.

How to choose a team

Go on ‘Add Club’ and then ‘Search’. You can either put the Game ID in at the top which is ‘19499’ or Go to the bottom and select ‘English Championship’. Then type in ‘2523’. Click on the link that comes up and you can choose what club you want by clicking on ‘Take Control’ when you choose a club to look at.

Yeah, I’ve been playing this for years. Not too much commitment required in terms of time, just check my teams once each morning. I have a crappy team that I’ve been thinking of getting rid of for a while so I’ll join yours. What team have you got?

Yeah I’ve been on for a few years.

Tried various teams but now I’m exclusively Hearts and Liverpool

Enter English Championship right at the bottom. Then it should come up with a bit where you can enter the number. Entere 2523 and click on it. Then go onto Division 2 and choose a club.

I haven’t played for years, at one stage about half the boys in my year at school played. I managed to put together an amazing Arsenal team which won the league, but the game world was getting emptier and emptier and I eventually lost the team when I went on holiday and because of that lost interest altogether.

You actually need to go to that page, then go to the bottom of the middle column where it says “Game World Name Search” and pick “English Championship” then put in “2523” in the id box.

This game used to suck up my life before I knew what Football Manager was.  I was one of the guys who would have all the up and coming promising players who would be about to get a huge boost.  Doing this I could make huge profits and buy better players.  I took Portsmouth to the Champions League Semi’s in one of the Gold Championships.  I think it was Gold Championship 16 or something which is nuts because now they are on Gold Championship 160+
Gold Championships are the ones you can’t play in unless you buy a subscription.  MUCH more competitive and much more like real life.

I’ll try again but I really don’t want to get sucked in like last time…my life can’t spare that time anymore.

I took Bolton Wanderers in Division 2.  See you guys on Saturday!

There is also a new feature (to me) of SM, a Facebook style instant messenger feature to see who is online.  Really cool.

Turns out my first League match is against Dylstar.

I’ve been playing this for years as well. I’ve got no empty slots at the moment, and I don’t want to give up any of my teams yet, but when I leave a team I’ll join this game world you guys are in. I have over 200 players in a couple of my teams, and still a few hundred million left-over to spend, the benefit of spotting young talent when they’re still cheap.

Right fuck it, I’ve decided to leave my Milan team to join this league. That Milan side had Iniesta, Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Pique, Dani Alves, Sneijder, Alonso and a whole a bunch of other great players, it was getting boring because I was just winning everything every year, so this better be worth it now!

I believe you do, it’s so other people can try to get bids in when a group of friends joins a league together.

Been playing this for a while now. Have fenerbache and borussia dortmund both in world championships so this should be exciting as ive never done an english championship.

Have taken control of Cardiff. Their transfer budget was too tempting.

The big key is tactics.
Set them up, MAKE SURE TO CONFIRM before switching to anything else.
Then set up tactics based on when you are losing or winning (if I’m losing by 3 goals or more 75 minutes in, I just bomb on).
To swap players, you click and drag on their names on the pitch.
When setting up tactics, if you click on a players shirt you will see gray dots around him, clicking one tells you what runs he should make.  This can be used to make a Winger into an Inside Forward or make a CM more defensive.

Also, go put in transfers.
I made this suggestion to James WIllis so I’ll tell you all as well, go look at non human controlled teams, especially ones outside the English League.
Usually in these smaller leagues that only have one country, the big teams just poach the best players across the world, but that still leaves plenty of 88 to 90 rated players in France, Spain, Germany, Italy, etc.
Non-human controlled teams can be pretty generous with their best players.  Sometimes you only have to bid just over their value and you’ll get them.

I’m not giving away any more tips.
