My team Bristol City beat Arsenal in the Cup 3-0 on penalties after a a 1-1 draw. Had 67% possession and 17 shots. Good to see my tactics work against the biggest team in the leagues we’re in ahead of my inevitable promotion to the Premiership!

Had Gallas sent off mind, my highest rated defender.

Well done, great result

That would be me.  I forgot about the Shield or whatever it was, so now my players are all knackered.  Mind you, pumped Brighton 6-1 at the weekend so it is beginning to come together.

Your defence must be solid if they managed to keep Xisco at bay.

Sort of won my first game. Technically drew it but I’ll take the pelanty win as a win. 1-1 with Ramble forumer’s Plymouth Argyle (div above).
Did this despite resting my so called better players, and getting a rating of 3 to a player who played the whole match. Anyone seen a lower rating than that?

EDIT- div above means division above, not having a pop at Shandy!

Seems like fixture congestion is setting in!

Also, I’ve never seen a rating lower than 4.  A 3 is pretty amazing (in the worst way)

So far the Cup/Shield byes have been the only thing keeping me from fielding all the same people all the time.

There is a chance I will be announcing a big new signing in the next 24 hours for Hull City, if all goes to plan. Watch this space….

It’s gone through, I had pretty much no money left so this had to be financed mainly with a swap, so I’ve swapped out Michael Essien, thanks for the efforts and good luck in the future blah blah etc…. and to my new signing I say welcome to Hull City…. Sergio Busquets

Busquets came from unmanaged Barcelona. Well done RKMF, nice transfer.
On a cautionary note. Will you be able to pay what must be a massive wage bill now?

No, I almost certainly won’t be able to. The away games are the worst because I don’t get any gate receipts to balance it out. I had to spend another £1m as part of the Busquets deal, now I have around £200k left. I’ll be in the red in about a weeks time and therefore won’t be able to do anymore transfers until I’m out of debt. I just hope i don’t get fired for being too far in debt…

Can that happen in this game? Are there conditions for which you can be fired?

Once you get in the red it’s very hard to get out of it unless you sell some players…. especially in our divisions where the attendances are small.. that £200k will be gone in a week or so…..

Honestly I don’t know, I’ve never been in debt for longer than a couple of weeks before. I don’t recall seeing anyone else get fired for financial troubles, or anything else for that matter so I should be ok.

Yeah I’m fully aware of that, but the wage bill was already huge when I arrived, I’ve tried to sign as much as I can with the little money I had and a lot of swap deals, so I’m happy with the way the squad looks now, and I’ll just happily stay in debt for a while because I don’t really want to sell anyone. Risky strategy but my squad is easily good enough to get promoted, it’s just a question of not fucking it up with my managerial skills (or lack of). I’m losing around £600k every away game, and pretty much breaking even from home games, so my debt could be massive come the end of the season. I need to get some prize money from winning a cup (or dare I say the league)

Couple of Middlesbrough players due a big performance after a bad run of results recently. You can just pick one of my guys for best performance and write it up now if you like wink

Sergio Busquets with a goal just 2 minutes into his debut against Plymouth Argyle, absolute scenes. And a 3-2 win to boot. Looked like a good game, 42 shots in total between us, and 26 on target, a feast of attacking football.

Lost 2-1 to Blackburn rovers. My 4-1-3-2 tactic that I have used across all my teams ive had has not been doing well of late so I think it might be time for a change.

Middlesbrough 3-2 Leicester City

2-0 down after 17 minutes is a worrying sign against a side in the relegation zone with no manager. However, we fought back well with goals from Van Bommel and Rami before Giggs grabbed an 81st minute winner. The result was soured a little by injuries to 2 defenders (Maxi Pereira for 3 days and Adil Rami for 7 weeks!!!)

Happy with the result overall, though there is definitely still room for improvement. Middlesbrough are back into the playoff places tonight smile

The best player of the day goes to… Reading’s Dimitar Berbatov.

4549_1321462996.jpg

The Bulgarian had a flawless game and played a big role in Reading’s 6-1 demolition of Preston North End. Berbatov managed to score 2 and get 2 assists. He also managed to grab a Man of the match for his 10/10 performance.

The worst player of the day goes to… Watford’s Yaroslav Rakytskiy.

42008_1312382599.jpg

Despite a winning performance from his side, the young defender notched up a 4/10 performance as his side failed to keep a clean sheet.

1-0 win away at Southampton with an 88th minute penalty from Cuenca. Still can’t believe I’m doing this well.

Sets up 1st v 2nd with me hosting Blackpool at home on Saturday, ooooooh yeah.

YAAAAAASSSSSSSS!!!!!

3-2 win against Wigan Athletic. Micky Doyle, McSheffery and Bryan Ruiz the scorers for Coventry. Drogba scores 2 for Wigan giving him the Man of the Match award, although it will be no consolation for Wigan, who drop down to 9th while Coventry move off the foot of the table with their first win of the season.

edit: my squad is shite, which makes it doubly special.

Blackburn are doing their best to run away with this league as quickly as they can.
8 games played and they are already 5 points clear of 2nd place.
Their starting 11 has an average rating of 88.

RKMF, let me know when Hull finally go broke and I’ll give you 2 89’s for a 91+....y’know, to help you lower your wage bill.

Haha, I’m broke already, got £19k left after today’s match, and that was a home game, situation’s worse than I thought. Still like an idiot I’ve got 3 transfers in the pipeline, one is a straight swap and the other two are £8k each, I’m doing as much as I can before I’m in the red, because it may potentially take me ages to get out. I’m just one midfielder off having a second string 11 I’m happy with so just need this swap deal to go through now.

Comfortable 4 - 0 win in my latest league game,  if I manage to win the next one, I could get into play-off positions, 8 points off the leader.  Only problem I might have in financial,  got a bit of money in the bank, but dont think I can afford to spend any more.

I thought I was doing fine financially, my squad has an average wage of £26k per week.  Turns out I profit about £100k a week on home games, but lose £400k a week on away games.
Guess it’s time to go buy a ton of youth with £1.6 million and hope I get some risers for some quick cash.

Bradford go loco as Xisco bounces back

Xisco was back amongst the scorers after going 2 games without a goal, helping his Bradford side to a 4-1 win.

Yes, had a tough opening to the season but a win last week, a win this week against bottom Doncaster, and hopefully a win on sat against 2nd bottom Coventry can let me hop up the table a bit

Dominated a friendly against Aston Villa tonight with a potential new tactic. Managed to win 3-1 with 62% possession, 22 shots and 13 on target. Will be rolling this out for the league game on saturday against Sheffield Wednesday.

Yes, had a tough opening to the season but a win last week, a win this week against bottom Doncaster, and hopefully a win on sat against 2nd bottom Coventry can let me hop up the table a bit

I wouldn’t be too hasty. I think my team have finally found their feet. Should be a good game. If I win I go level on points with you, should be tasty.
