Lost 1-0 away to Peterborough but expected as i confirmed a completely screwed up team when I was at work earlier.

Do you only play the games on the actual date specified, in real time?

Burnley 2-0 Southampton

A good win to kick things off despite it being against managerless Southampton.

Also how long does it take roughly for your transfer bids to be decided on by the managerless teams?

24 hours.

The unmanaged 4-4-2 teams are often the hardest to beat

I HAVE TAKEN COVENTRY CITY:

and I am playing Middlesbrough tonight. (Ron Manager, nice name smile )

JESUS CHRIST YOUR TEAM IS INSANE!!!

lol, I’m hoping to strengthen it today with a few transfers. Good result for you last night, we’re playing each other again in the first league game on Saturday. Things will be different then (he said, his mind full of doubt…)

My whole Argyle squad is on the transfer list

Put in about 20-25 bids for players last night so hopefully by saturday I should have a totally new look squad….

Not had chance to look at anyone elses team… How my existiing team is still in the championship after 9 seasons is anyone’s guess…. it’s made up mainly of current league 2 players…

Kevin Prince Boateng and Wilfried Zaha are both making up their minds as to whether to come with me or go to Cardiff. Fingers crossed I can get at least one of them.

Not gone for the most amazing players ever, but very good players nonetheless. Looking for a solid defensive line with some good counter attacking forward players.

I’ve gone for a blend of under-rated youngsters and a few old heads

If I avoid relegation I will have done well I think….

There’s a lot of pressure because since there are 15 ramblers with teams, that means if you finish at the bottom of us lot, you will be really deep into a relegation battle.

I’m really pleased as now every team has a manager except Doncaster which is understandable so it shoul be really competitive. Just to say, really pay attention to the tactics and spend a lot of time deciding on them. That will decide how your players perform as even if you have much better players than your opponent, if you don’t play them the right way, you won’t win.

I’ve made the signings of Lloyd Doyley, Scott Dann and George McCartney. Have also had bids accepted for Grant Holt, Darren Bent, Wilfried Zaha, KP Boateng and SWP. Deals being done!

He’s not yours, you just made an offer for him, and I had him shortlisted since yesterday, so I’m entitled to make an offer too. You may still get him.

I’ve gone pretty much exclusively for underrated players. How often do they update the ratings?

http://www.soccermanager.com/playerchanges.php

Player Ratings are reviewed and updated by members of the Soccer Wiki community.

Rating changes take place on a daily basis and the majority of the world league’s are reviewed throughout the year.

There is no structured Rating Changes Schedule, but there is a flexible system which has a greater focus on the world’s most popular leagues.

We will officially announce on the Player Changes page which leagues are currently being transferred from the Soccer Wiki and also which leagues will be next to be transferred.

Usually each league gets done about every 6 months or so. They have a schedule, so they do it a league at a time, and it carries on pretty much all year round. They just updated the main European Leagues (Serie A, La Liga, Premier League, Bundersliga, Ligue 1) in December, so probably around April or May I reckon those will be getting done again.

There’s only Doncaster in our division (division 2). If you want to manage Colchester they’re in division 3, they have a better budget than Doncaster, but you’ll have to spend a season playing against computer controlled teams trying to get promoted before you can play the rest of us.

what sort of bunce has everyone started with?

I have a lot more that I was expecting…. not gonna spend too big though, it’s much more satisfying getting players who’se values will increase, although that polocy will most likely lead me to relegation… : (

It’s playing the percentages. If I go in for 3 instead of one, the likelyhood is I’ll get a decent CM at least.

Edit: Fuck me, RKMF really wants Meireles. I’ll take him all the way.

GAH!
Someone buy players off me quick!
I’ve had bids accepted worth £38 million, but I only have £33 million to spend!
I will sell any 86 rated or below for minimum price and will sell 87 ratings for good prices (but not minimum).

I think I chose the wrong team.  :P
Not as strong as I thought and I believe the smallest transfer budget in the whole group.

Btw, the reason this game tends to have high transfer budgets after a few seasons is because human players very VERY rarely sell anyone for cash.  It’s always for player-exchange.  Meaning, if you want my 92 rated DM (I don’t actually have one, example) you have to give me 2 90+ rated players in exchange.  So transfer funds just sit there not being used.
It was a problem back when I played 5 or 6 years ago but they were trying to make money more enticing, not sure if it worked.

Also, anyone else who hasn’t played the game should keep in mind that you DO have multiple competitions like the FA Cup and the Carling Cup (Shield in the game)...and those are played on days other than Saturday and Wednesday and players do fatigue….so you DO want to have a full squad.

I would help you out, but there’s literally no-one in your squad I want (other than Carrick, but he’s your best player so I’m guessing you want to keep him).
Also, I’ve been playing regularly for the last 2 and a half years, and to be honest there’s more money transfers than swap deals nowadays.
