Played it on handheld. Not a big fan of handheld, but enjoyed the way of playing. Not surprised included here

I was already excited about it, now I can’t wait, the new features should improve an already amazing game. Can’t wait to get into Challenge Mode! Hopefully there’ll soon be a challenge mode that you can recreate classic moments in football (United’s treble etc)

Yeah. Before Christmas sounds a bit ominous. Is it not usually more like October sort of time? To be fair though, i follow Miles on twitter and it seems that his mum has had an illness that put it back a bit, so can hardly complain.

I was hoping they’d introduce interviews and chairman personalities and challenges (eg, bring players to sell, bring youth into the squad) but you never know theres still a lot they haven’t said

I don’t think it’ll be too late, they say every year that they are aiming for before xmas and it’s usually out October so I think it’s probably about then again

FMC sounds excellent. I can’t be fucked with all the training, team talks and that shit. 8-10 hours is perfect for a season.

I sack off all the media and training stuff anyway, get coaches in that specialise in each area and leave em to it. Assistant does the reserves, friendlies etc.

Its just me and my lovely 25 men

I like how you can select exactly who in your staff does what, including the new roles which are shown in another shot as Director of Football and Head of Youth Development

Some nice little touches as usual like a much smoother and quicker looking match screen and being able to choose what role your loaned out player is preferred to have which hints at the improved loan system they mentioned

On another forum (neoseeker), we used to create our own challenges, game saves and a certain objective. Used to be pretty epic.

EDIT: All I want from the new game is a way of putting my team from my save against my mates team from his save. Surely they can do that right?!

I wish they could make a better ipad version (i.e. the full game). This is literally the only thing that makes me need a laptop now. And I will probably buy a new one when the current one dies for the very same reason. More moans from the missus inbound…

I know the feeling. I have a feeling my laptop will die in the next 6 months or so. Don’t need to replace it other than FM. But obviously will! So basically FM ends up costing hundreds of pounds!

I remember hearing that somewhere, I vaguely remember that it was the former Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe who complained but I might be wrong.

I think there’s similar issues with players aswell. They get round this with the regens where you will find they miss training and have been seen getting pissed the night before and things like that

This is from the article on PC Gamer:

How have you changed the network game?

Well, we essentially threw away the old network game and brought it into the 21st century. We were still stuck in 1995, with people having to type in their IP address and be the host with other servers going into them. Now we’re doing it all through Steam. Effectively, we’ve got dedicated servers, though they’re not just dedicated to us – they’re also used for Team Fortress 2 and various other games as well. And because of that we kept in the other mode in case people still want to use that. But this time we’ve also added in a bunch of new online modes, so you can set up your own custom leagues or custom cups, and you can even take your team from your saved game and use that in network games so you’re not just restricted to the starter teams in the database.

This will probably interest me in network games again if it can be just a quick cup competition, rather than having to be around for a whole league season.

It’s good to be able to delegate roles more. I’ve often thought about having a selection of roles in the game that the player could take on - but without actually thinking about how it would work. i.e. being the assistant manager, being a director of football, being a scout. all I guess are already in the game in a way…

Physio Manager with Nigel Adkins on the front.

I hope they improve the editor, at the minute I fucking hate it. They tend to improve it a ltitle every year.

Ultimately, I want to be able to create a US College Database, that would still work with the draft but that probably won’t be possible without it take a few days of tweaking code and shit.

Anyone planned out the teams they’re going to use yet? I normally have an Everton save and an “Other” save that both get 5/6 years each.

FM 2008 - Everton and Leeds United.
FM 2011 - Everton and Leeds United.
FM 2012 - Everton, Portsmouth and a journeyman save, which I highly recommend.
FM 2013 - Everton and I’m thinking of BATE Borisov. May have to download the Belarusian leagues first, though.

I’ve also got another 3 requirements for the editor.

I want to be able to create a team like Athletic Bilbao but with a different region, like an all North Eastern team, with the transfer rules too.
I also want to be able to alter the MLS league rules so there’s no squad rules but retaining the draft.
I’ve forgotten my third.

They’ve added a new transfer deadline day feature

I bet Jim White plays and just saves the game the day before and plays it over and over again

I love a journeyman game, currently on fm 12 my career path has been villa >Barca B> Leeds and im heavily linked with Anji for some reason, but on FM10 I had the mother of journeyman games where i went Hull>Fiorentina>Bayern>Celtic. My Bayern team was arguably the best team I’ve ever had and I knocked them out of the champions league with Celtic. Amazing scenes I tell ya!

I’m on a bit of a journeyman save at the moment, albeit a very average one. Finished 8th with Newcastle>won bronze with team GB>now near the bottom of League 2 with Luton Town.

True fact.

Mine in FM 11 was: Hearts, PSV, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Coventry, Newcastle, Liverpool/Scotland

Best one was FM 10. Can’t remember it all but I made my own Scotland league system in the editor so I started at my local Juniors team, then went to Solihull Moors, Ayr, Shamrock Rovers, Zenit…

Obviously Spurs, and then Watford. Tend to stick with the Watford saves because the transition is more rewarding. Promotion and development. Also atm i’m running, on FM12, a Watford team challenging for 6th in 2015/16 on an average wage of 11k/p/w; rather than spurs 80+ for bringing decent players in. easier to manage.

Yeah, with the aim to move your way up. I can’t do them, I get too attatched to where I am.

Definately Manchester United, Parma, something in Denmark (Probably a club/country).

Probably Wigan, Fiorentina.

Possibly Schalke and Villarreal. Also Milan might be an interesting challenge, high expectations but a massively weakened team. Could go for the MLS, but I’d want to change the whole transfer system to do that.

November 2 is the confirmed release date for steam. If you pre order you receive the beta 2 weeks early which I’m guessing won’t be too much different from the final product by that time.
